From students just entering JSS1 to those preparing for WAEC — and students in the US and worldwide — this programme meets you exactly where you are. Students are grouped by mathematics and computing ability, not age, so everyone is challenged at the right level.

How We Group Students

On Day 1, every student completes a short, friendly maths and computing assessment. We use the results to place students into ability-matched groups — not by age or school year. This means a gifted JSS1 student can work alongside an SS1 student, and every student is stretched without being overwhelmed. Groups are reviewed weekly and adjusted as students grow.

The Maths Behind the Machines

Every AI system is built on mathematics that secondary school students already encounter. This programme connects the dots — showing students why the maths they learn in school is the same maths that powers Google, ChatGPT, and self-driving cars.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do students need to know how to code before attending?
No prior coding experience is required. The first three weeks focus entirely on the mathematical foundations of AI. Python coding is introduced gently in Week 4 using Google Colab — a free, browser-based tool that requires no installation.
What age or school year is this for?
The programme is designed for students from JSS3 (going into SS1) through SS3. Students preparing for WAEC and JAMB will find the statistics and algebra content directly relevant to their examinations.
Do students need to bring a laptop?
Laptops are provided during in-class sessions at all three venues. Students are welcome to bring their own device if they have one, but it is not required.
What certificate do students receive?
Students who complete the programme receive a Certificate of Completion in the Mathematics of AI & ML from the Learning Institute for Excellence and STEM Clubs Across Africa. Early Bird registrants also receive a digital badge suitable for university applications and CVs.
Is there an online option for students outside Lagos, Abuja, and Jos?
We are exploring a live-streamed online option for students in other cities. Register your interest using the form below and select "Online" as your preferred city — we will notify you if an online cohort is confirmed.
How does this connect to the Counting to Calculus curriculum?
This programme is designed as a companion to the Counting to Calculus mathematics curriculum. Students who complete the August training are encouraged to continue with the STEM Club programme in September, where they will go deeper into the mathematical foundations using the full Counting to Calculus course.
What is the refund policy?
Full refunds are available up to 7 days before the programme start date (July 27, 2026). After that date, a 50% credit toward a future programme is available. Please contact Amos@learningforexcellence.com for any refund requests.
